Last night Trevor, Ly, Ryan, and I went out to dinner at the Bonefish Grill on Westlake. I had always been curious about it ever since I moved to Seattle, always passing it but never going in. A few weeks ago Ly and I had agreed to check it out one night and yesterday, as we were heading back from the outlets up north, we all decided to give it a try.
It was Saturday night at prime dinner time, but we were seated right away. You could smell the grilled fish when you got in, but not in the nauseating kind of way. Our waitress was really nice and on top of things and the atmosphere had a good ambiance about it. Most importantly though, the food was was really good. I mean, even our table’s bread, with its olive oil and pesto mix, was placed in front of us with an explanation about the type of dough and particular ingredients in the pesto, hah. It was a bit on the foodie-side, but I didn’t mind and besides, it was pretty darn good.
We ended up splitting a cajun chicken eggroll starter and I ordered halibut with mango salsa, potatoes au gratin, and some sort of squash side that was curiously sweet and tasty. It was a little more pricey than expected, but overall I left full and happy. We had to pass on dessert this time due to just overall stuffed’ness, but next time we’ll have to remember to leave room for the chocolate macadamia nut brownie cake.
