Funny being here twice in one year. Day 1: Thankful for husband who loads car with luggage and carries Lincoln’s gear. For TSA Pre. For baby who flies really really well. For not feeling disastrous despite less than 4 hours sleep. For learning L slept through the night for first time in weeks. For landing in Maui and the familiar scent, sound, heat of it. For the excitement of being here. For our traditional Costco run and the anticipation of friends’ arrival. For L finally eating. For our walk on the beach to see sunset. For introducing L to the ocean. The look on his face in the sand, seeing the pools, and his crib that he won’t use. For L’s repeated delight today with pretty much everything, but especially our hotel room.
