First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of Spring Quarter. It was weird making my way to the bottom floor of the Chemistry Library for my first class. It was also weird not having class ’til 1:30PM, haha. I still don’t know how I’m going to make it from the Chem Library to Balmer in ten minutes, having all your INFO classes in MGH all day really does spoil you. After class I went up to the iSchool to get an add code for my Independent Study and popped into one of the labs.

While uploading some more old photos to my Flickr account, I started chatting online to Tho and David about being hungry. It took us like forty-five minutes to figure out what we wanted to do for dinner, only to find that Tho wasn’t really chatting from home like he said, but was actually in the lab below me in Mary Gates! AAaar! So once I found him, we picked up Teresa, drove up to Lynnwood to get David and went out to dinner.

We went to this new Cambodian restaurant that David had suggested and the food really hit the spot; I had been craving some sort of beef/rice combo all week. I still don’t know what is definitively Cambodian, as it all looks either Thai, Chinese, or Vietamese to me, but no complaints. After some dessert that resembled Halo Halo in a bowl, we headed over to the Alderwood Shopping Center to check out the new theater. Hopefully Dave will have a new review up on it soon.

Justin joined us there and we all saw Million Dollar Baby. A movie has yet to make me cry, but this came pretty freakin’ close. Like all the reviews say, it’s good. The boxing matches were pretty off the hook. Caught my self yelling “YEA!” at certain points during the fights. Feeling emotionally drained afterward, I was reluctant to end the night. Watching drama tends to leave me feeling funny afterward. So after a failed attempt to find an open bubble tea joint, it was off to the nearest Denny’s for dessert.

There I had a fudge brownie a la mode and got to hear David retell one of his latest WoW stories. After hanging out for a bit, Tho drove Teresa and I home around 1am. It was a good night out. Hoorah for the first couple days of the quarter. They always tend to seem more filled with possibility, along with the accompanying optimism on class load, haha.

    Wait, hold up.

I thought David said he would only tell WoW dreams and not actual stories from when he played the game. At least that’s what I remembered.

Oooh, I’ve been meaning to see Million Dollar Baby. That’s two people I know who’ve liked it. Guess I have something to do this weekend then…
